India on Friday successfully test-fired its indigenous ‘Rudram’ Anti-Radiation Missile from a Sukhoi-30 fighter plane off the east coast. The Defence Analysis and Improvement Organisation (DRDO) has developed the Missile. ‘Rudram’ is the nation’s first indigenous Anti-Radiation missile for Indian Air Power that has been developed by DRDO. The missile is built-in on Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter plane as a launch platform. It has the potential of various ranges based mostly on launch situations, stated DRDO.

“The New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1) which is India’s first indigenous anti-radiation missile developed by DRDO India for Indian Air Force was tested successfully today at ITR, Balasore. Congratulations to DRDO and other stakeholders for this remarkable achievement,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated.

The missile is prone to be built-in with the Sukhoi fighter jets of the Indian Power as soon as the missile is prepared for induction. The missile was test-fired on the built-in check vary at Balasore in Odisha round 10:30 AM, officers have been quoted as saying by PTI.
